This week, Project Management Specialists from the Regional Development Agency South (RDA South) carried out monitoring visits to Cahul and Cantemir cities. They checked how the investment projects are running: "Thermal rehabilitation of the Cantemir District Hospital" and "Sustainable Development of the Industrial Park Cahul as a Support Structure for Business of Regional Importance ". These projects are implemented by the Regional Development Agency South, from the National Fund for Regional Development sources.

The RDA South specialists documented on the current situation regarding the implementation of the projects, running of the works and the registered progress. They also took note of a number of issues that local decision-makers are going to take into account in order to properly implement the projects.

Inspecting the location of the future Cahul Industrial Park, the RDA South employees found that at the moment, the general contractor is executing works to complete the construction of the sewerage networks under pressure.

The works within this project started on May 1, 2018. Up to now, land preparation works for the future park of 5.8 ha surface, were executed and 80 per cent of the aqueduct networks were installed. 71% of the gravity drainage works are executed and soon, the installation of the sewerage networks under pressure will be completed. Also, the construction works of the pipeline are finalized.

The works for the construction of the networks, access ways and the arrangement of the Cahul Industrial Park are carried out within the project "Sustainable Development of the Industrial Park Cahul as a Support Structure for Business of Regional Importance ". The project is implemented by the RDA South in partnership with Cahul District Council. The total cost of the works is 20,041,018.20 MDL.

The execution of the works is carried out according to the provisions of the Project Financing Contract, signed at 03.04.2017, of the Additional Agreements No. 1 and 2 on the implementation of the project included in the Single Programming Document for 2017-2020 and according to the Contract no.13 / L / 17 of 15.12.2017, signed between RDA South, Cahul District Council and "Coloana Mecanizată de Construcții" LLC.

The construction of the Industrial Park aims to develop the business infrastructure of the Development Region South by creating a favourable business environment.

At the Cantemir District Hospital, where energy efficiency measures are being implemented as part of the project "Thermal rehabilitation of the Cantemir District Hospital" (surgical block), the economic operator are performing, at the moment, the works on hot water distribution networks. Next year, ventilation system assembly works follows.

It worth mentioning that the project is at the last stage. Till this moment, the entrepreneur "Consmodern" LLC completed the renovation works of the roof of the surgical block, carpentry and thermal insulation of exterior walls of the Cantemir District Hospital building.

It worth mentioning that the "Thermal rehabilitation of the Cantemir District Hospital" project is implemented by the RDA South and financed from the National Fund for Regional Development. It aims to increase the degree of comfort in the surgical building of the hospital by improving thermal energy consumption inside the building.

According to the contract signed by the Regional Development Agency South, Cantemir District Council and "Consmodern" LTD, the value of the construction works is 12.163444 MDL. In order to launch the thermal rehabilitation of the Cantemir District Hospital, 5 million MDL were allocated in 2017 from the National Fund for Regional Development. This investment project aims to bring benefits to those about 63,000 citizens from Cantemir district that get medical assistance and care from the District Hospital.
