On December 18th 2014, the South Regional Development Agency, celebrated five years of its foundation, anniversary celebrated during the festive meeting of the South Regional Development Council. During the meeting, the Agency’s Director, Mrs. Culeșov Maria, presented to the audience the institution’s achievements within 5 years of the implementation of regional development policy.
In the period of 2010-2014, 20 projects of regional development were approved for financing. Of these, 11 were completed and nine are under implementation. 16 projects are funded from the National Fund for Regional Development (NFRD), with a total cost of 331.36 mil. lei. Other 4 projects are financed from the GIZ Moldova sources, with a total cost of 70.168 mil. lei.
Projects of modernization, rehabilitation or expansion of water supply systems and wastewater, the Agency finalized 3 projects and four projects are under implementation. In these projects were built 90, 91 km of water supply network and 12,57 km of sewage, with a total amount of 31.4 million.
In the construction, rehabilitation and modernization of regional and local roads, 6 projects were finalized and 4 projects are under implementation. In these projects were renovated / built 29.46 km of road, 16.34 km of which of asphalt variant and 13.12 km of gravel variant with a total value of 66.7 million.
The Agency has successfully implemented one project on efficient waste management, totaling 14.2 mil. lei, in which eight municipal enterprises were equipped with machines and equipment necessary for selective waste collection (trucks, bulldozers, container, press arms, etc.).
A grand project completed and successfully implemented related to increasing tourist attraction is the Center for Youth and Sport in Căușeni, totaling 32.3 million lei. Another project related to this field is the Salt Lake from Cahul, which is currently under implementation.
In 2014, South RDA has employed the highest amount of financial resources of 59.808 million lei compared to previous years (2011 - 43.630 million lei, 2012 - 41.440 million lei, 2013 - 56.375 million lei).
