A meeting of the MLPS Monitoring Committee for the second quarter of 2017 took place

On August 10, 2017, the members of the Monitoring Committee of the project "Modernization of Local Public Services of the Republic of Moldova" (MLPS) - implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation(GIZ) - held a work meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the results and progress of the project during the April - June 2017 reporting period and activities planned for the next quarter.

The event was attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment (MARDE), Regional Development Agencies (North, Center, South and TAU Găgăuzia), the Presidents of the Regional Development Councils (North, Centerl, South and TAU Gagauzia) and MLPS project co-financiers, as well as MLPS project consultants.

Dorin Andros, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment: "Together with our colleagues, we have thoroughly analyzed the progress report presented by MLPS and concluded that some benchmarks would have to be adjusted because in the context of the reform of the central Public Administration, new activities that should be implemented in partnership will emerge. The current structure of the Ministry has been discussed with the development partners in order  to ensure the proper functioning of the institution. "

Alexandr Muravschi, interim manager of the MLPS project: "We are glad to have such a good collaboration with the main institutional partner. Of course, the reform process is complex and we will continue to support the ministry in promoting regional development policy. "

The MLPS / GIZ advisors talked about the achievements and challenges encountered in the four areas of project intervention during the reporting period, mentioned the activities planned for the next quarter, and also highlighted the challenges that could occur in the future identifying possible solutions.

The project "Modernization of Local Public Services in the Republic of Moldova" (MLPS) is implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment of the Republic of Moldova and financially supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the European Union, the Government of Romania, the Government of Sweden and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
