The 5th edition of the” Flower Parade” Trade Fair - held in Cimișlia

On Sunday, April 22, dozens of horticultural producers from different districts of the Republic of Moldova participated at the 5th edition of the "Flower Parade" trade fair developed annually in Cimișlia. The event was organized by Cimislia District Council. It is traditional not only in the Development Region South, but also at the national level. This year, over three thousand visitors were present at the event.

The Regional Development Agency South actively participated as partner of the event, promoting cultural, economic and tourism potential of the Development Region South. Also, the RDA South representatives distributed, to interested people, leaflets, brochures and other promotional materials reflecting the current activity of the Agency and the investment projects implemented in the Development Region South over the few past years.

The RDA South and the partners from Provincia di Novara, Italy, organize training courses for bakers and patissiers. As a result of this partnership, the RDA employees carried out at the event sale of bakery products: pizza and focaccia, prepared by a famous Italian professor, based on the traditional Italian recipe. Afterwards, the collected money will be donated to the "Concordia" Social Center from Cimișlia.

This year, the" Flower Parade" Fair Trade Agenda included exhibition of flowers, trees and decorative bushes, seed material, floral gastronomic products, handicrafts, equipment and tools for flower gardens, flower care tips, contests etc.

Moreover, the Republican College of Plastic Arts "Alexandru Plămădeală" from Chișinau presented an open-air artistic workshop.

The "Flower Parade" event became something specific for Cimișlia district and is dedicated to promoting the horticultural sector. "We want to have more enthusiastic people in growing flowers, trees and decorative bushes, processing seeds, all contributing to the development of floriculture, not only in the Region South, but also all over the country. Many places in the world have become famous for being hosts of flower exhibitions. We hope, this is also the case of Cimislia district, "said Mr Iovu Bivol, the president of Cimislia district.

According to the president of the district, since 2014, when the first edition of the "Flower Parade" took place, the exhibition was held successfully. So, if at the first event, there were about 20 horticulturists, this year 40 specialized companies have competed. Forestry enterprises, with offers from the latest achievements in growing trees and decorative bushes, were present also at the exhibition in Cimișlia.

Those present at the festivity benefited of an exceptional artistic program, supported by native artists. The "Spicuşor" folk music Orchestra of the Moldova State University; "Bravissimo" Orchestra of the Ungheni Music School; "Akord" band and others performend at the 5th edition of "Flower Parade".
