24 million lei from 38, invested in the Căușeni district sports complex

The investment of 24 million lei, of the 38 planned for the biggest Universal Sports Complex in the country, takes the form of a modern, dynamic building, unique in the country. In order to ensure a quality management in project implementation, stakeholders in the process met in Căușeni, Tuesday, April 2.

The meeting was attended by the Director of the South Regional Development Agency (South RDA), Maria CULEȘOV, head of the Project Management of the South RDA, Eugen Lupascu, Căușeni District President, Ion Ciontoloi, general contractor, designer and project manager - Vera Ciuchitu.

After visiting the monitoring of the project implementation, the working group participated in a regular meeting at which they discussed issues related to the progress achieved, the problems encountered in the implementation process and certain financial aspects of the project.

The sports complex will be assigned the status of a public institution and will open the doors for all age categories this summer of this year.

The building is funded from the National Fund for Regional Development of 27,146,457 lei and a contribution from the Căușeni District Council of 11,660,018 lei. The project ,, Sport tourism by promoting the image of the region" is implemented by the South Regional Development Agency from the spring of 2011 and it will be completed this summer. The investment of 38 million provided for construction of the facility. Now, the Căușeni District Council is looking for financial sources to equipment the Complex with internet, sports equipment and furniture. Construction provided for  a competitive ballroom with a capacity of 300 seats, pool, workout room and toilets.

Potential beneficiaries of the project are about 50 thousand residents of the town of Causeni and the neighbouring towns of the districts Stefan Voda and Cimislia, this includes young people and members of the national leagues of the Republic of Moldova and 21champions in 7 sports.

Note the project was approved following the first call for proposals launched by the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction in June 2010 and its implementation period is 2 years.
